    Why Attend?

    Full Overview

Transport accounts for around one-fifth of global carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, 45.1% of which comes from passenger vehicles – cars and buses. Thus, electrification of transportation is a key part of the strategy to try to avoid the worst effects of climate change. COP26 has already put decarbonisation of this sector high on the agenda and the impetus continues, with 70% of the world population projected to be living, working and commuting in urban areas by 2050. Now is the time to examine how to transform transportation to accomplish net zero goals efficiently, affordably and strategically.

To achieve this, the demands of key stakeholders need to be understood. This includes the electric fleet owners whose assets will be directly impacted by net zero strategies, the utilities companies which will enable the transition by meeting complex energy needs and the e-mobility players which will build the charging infrastructure network.

Understanding the business case for each of these stakeholder groups is key to accelerating their approach to transportation electrification. These stakeholders will need to consider a variety of interconnected factors such as time-of-use rates and demand charges, rate-aware charging strategies, hosting capacity and grid stability, state of charge awareness and selecting the appropriate vehicles for fleet duty cycles. There is an opportunity to create significant value from using advanced AI and digital platforms to operate vehicles in a safe, reliable and cost-effective manner.

This webinar – the second in a series focused on digital transformation – will bring together leaders from the worlds of transportation electrification, fleet management and clean energy to examine the business case for digital decarbonisation in the transportation sector.
